STANFORD, CA – Pitt Lacrosse will play first-year ACC foe Stanford Thursday in California for their second conference clash of 2025. The midweek match-up is the second ACC game for both teams and is scheduled for a 3 PM Pacific, 6 PM Eastern, start at Cagan Stadium.
This is the first time the Panthers and Cardinal will meet on the lacrosse field. Stanford joined the Atlantic Coast Conference last summer, along with California and SMU.
Pitt is coming off a close loss last time out, as Virginia Tech defeated the visiting Panthers 11-10 in Blacksburg, Virginia. Sophomore Kaitlyn Giandonato put together a big time performance, scoring five goals for five points, both career marks. Sophomore transfer Aidan Carr also had a record setting day, grabbing 13 draw controls. The 13 draw controls are a single-game high for the Pitt Panthers in their three plus year history.
Stanford enters Thursday's game 4-0 (1-0 ACC) and is the No. 8 team in the latest national poll. The Cardinal defeated then No. 7 Virginia 13-7 and is now ninth in the country in scoring offense. Stanford boasts two players with over 15 points: Aliya Polisky (17G, 2A) and Elise Murphy (5G, 13A). In the crease, Lucy Pearson has made 22 saves and recorded a .458 save percentage.
Tomorrow's contest will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra here and live stats can be tracked here. After the trip to California, Pitt will play four games in a row at home at Highmark Stadium, beginning with Niagara on March 3rd.
