Pitt to Open Season at AVCA First Serve Against Nebraska

PITTSBURGH - The Panthers are set to participate in the AVCA First Serve Showcase in Lincoln, Nebraska at the Pinnacle Bank Arena on Aug. 22 and 24. Pitt will open the tournament against Nebraska on Friday, Aug. 22 and will wrap up competition against Florida on Sunday, Aug. 24.
The eight teams in the tournament include Pitt, Nebraska, Florida, Stanford, Penn State, Creighton, Kansas and Vanderbilt. Three teams competed in the 2024 National Semifinal while five programs advanced to the Regional Final.
Ticket presales open this Thursday, Feb. 27, for the matches in Lincoln and on March 6 for the matches in Sioux Falls. The general public sale for both sites will begin on March 14. All tickets will be available to purchase through Ticketmaster.
The Panthers are coming off four consecutive National Semifinal appearances and three straight ACC Championships. Pitt returns AVCA National Player of the Year Olivia Babcock, AVCA All-American Bre Kelley and AVCA East Coast Region Team member, Ryla Jones.
