PITTSBURGH – Pitt Lacrosse will play their second home game in a row Tuesday morning, as the Penn State Nittany Lions make the short trip west to Pittsburgh. Due to projected low temperatures Tuesday, the contest has been changed to an 11 AM start and will be played in the Pitt Sports Dome on the University of Pittsburgh campus.
Pitt and Penn State have met each of the three years in the Panthers' short history, with the Nittany Lions holding the 3-0 record. Current Panthers Emily Coughlin, Avery Moon and Jenna Hendrickson each scored a goal in State College. Senior Jill Fenech filled the stat sheet with six draw controls, one ground ball and one caused turnover.
Last time out, the Panthers dropped a back and forth battle with the Arizona State Sun Devils. Senior Jenna Hendrickson netted a hat trick, the tenth time in the blue and gold that she has scored three plus goals. Goalie Molly Cain stopped eight Sun Devil shots, while Coughlin and Natalie Voorhees both caused three turnovers to slow down the ASU attack.
Penn State sits at 2-1 early in the year. The Nittany Lions lost to Richmond (10-12) to open their campaign, but have since bounced back with wins over Bucknell (16-4) and Saint Joseph's (13-11). Attacker Erika Ho leads Penn State with seven goals scored, while goalie Sydney Manning has made 14 saves in the net. Ho also paces the Penn State draw team with 9 draw controls so far in 2025.
Due to the location change, Tuesday's game will not be streamed, however live stats can be tracked here. Next up, the Panthers will travel to Blacksburg, Virginia for their ACC opener. Pitt and Virginia Tech are scheduled to play Saturday at 12 PM.
