PITTSBURGH – Pitt Athletics and Pitt Sports Marketing, JMI Sports' on-site team, today launched the "Hail to Pittsburgh" Partner Platform to spotlight and celebrate Pittsburgh-based businesses. Coen Markets joins as the inaugural partner.
The Hail to Pittsburgh program celebrates businesses rooted in the Pittsburgh Metro Area, providing them with high-profile recognition across Pitt Athletics platforms. Participating partners will be featured in video board highlights and LED signage at Acrisure Stadium and Petersen Events Center, and recognized in game-day programs, radio spots and a dedicated digital and social media campaign. This initiative honors the success and history of local businesses while connecting them with Pitt fans on and beyond game day.
"Pitt Athletics is excited to strengthen its relationships with the members of the Pittsburgh Business Community through this Hail to Pittsburgh Partner Program," said Lee Roberts, Pitt Executive Associate AD. "Through their support, Coen Markets will be highlighted as our inaugural partner in the program, and we are excited to showcase them and their rich history of being based in this region."
Coen Markets, the first company to be featured, is the Pittsburgh region's oldest and largest convenience store chain. Founded in 1923, the company now operates nearly 60 locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia.
"We're thrilled to be welcomed as the first local business in the Hail to Pittsburgh program. It's important to us not only to highlight our local roots, but to also support Pitt and Pitt Athletics as another true community leader," said Andrea Neurohr, Coen Markets Vice President Marketing. "Our company is still family owned and operated and we live and work in the same community as our fellow Pitt fans."
"As an extension of Pitt's marketing team and as a team rooted in Pittsburgh, we're proud to build the 'Hail to Pittsburgh' platform as a way to recognize and celebrate the incredible businesses that shape our community," said Mike Meyer, Pitt Sports Marketing Vice President, Partnerships. "We're thrilled to welcome Coen Markets as our first partner and look forward to highlighting their legacy—along with many more—for years to come. This initiative is a great opportunity for companies looking to connect with Pitt fans and be part of something special."
