PITTSBURGH – Volleyball's Olivia Babcock and men's basketball's Damarco Minor have been named Pitt's PNC Achievers of the Week for their standout performances over the past week.
Babcock averaged 6.33 points, 5.33 kills, 2.50 digs and 1.33 blocks per set across two sweeps this past weekend. She delivered a match-high 22 kills on .404 hitting against No. 7 Louisville, adding eight digs, five blocks and two aces in the win. She followed that performance with 10 kills, seven digs and three blocks in the sweep of Georgia Tech, helping the Panthers secure a share of the ACC Championship.
Minor scored 18 points, including a 30-foot three-pointer at the buzzer, to lift the Pitt men's basketball team past Ohio State 67-66. After OSU took a two-point lead with 3.9 seconds remaining, Minor took the inbounds pass, weaved through defenders and elevated for the deep three-pointer to give the Panthers the victory. Minor was 7-of-14 from the field and connected on three three-pointers during the game. He added two assists, two rebounds, a blocked shot and a career-high five steals for the Panthers.
