PITTSBURGH – Saturday's contest in Tallahassee will mark just the fourth ACC meeting between Pitt and Florida State.
The teams last met in 2023, when the No. 4 Seminoles won in Pittsburgh, 24-7. Pitt last played at Florida State in 2020, when the Panthers eased past the Seminoles, 41-17.

GAME STORYLINES
- Dating back to 2021, Pitt has nine conference wins in the month of October, including a 4-0 record since last season. The nine wins are the third most in the ACC, behind Miami (10) and Clemson (12).
- The Panthers rolled past Boston College, 48-7, last week—Pitt's second-largest margin of victory against a conference opponent since joining the ACC in 2013.
- Pitt's offense registered 503 total yards while six different players scored touchdowns. The 287-yard total yardage margin was a season high and the largest by the Panthers in a conference game since joining the ACC. It was also their largest margin in a conference game since Oct. 23, 2010, against Rutgers (Big East).
- Pitt's defense allowed just 27 rushing yards, 89 passing yards, and forced three turnovers last week. The unit ranks third in the ACC in total defense (291.8) and second in scoring defense (19.6).
- QB Mason Heintschel became the first true freshman quarterback at Pitt to win his first career start since Kenny Pickett in 2017, when Pitt beat No. 2 Miami. The true freshman completed 30-of-41 passes for 323 yards and four touchdowns.
- He became the first ACC true freshman with 300 passing yards and four touchdowns in their first career start since Deshaun Watson in 2014.
- WR Kenny Johnson recorded career highs in both receptions and receiving yards, logging nine catches for 115 yards and a touchdown. He ranks eighth in the conference in all-purpose yards, averaging 105.6 per game.
- LB Rasheem Biles finished the day against Boston College with three tackles, one sack, one TFL, and one forced fumble. He ranks second in the conference in tackles (9.0) and TFL (1.6).
- Florida State head coach Mike Norvell's professional path includes one season at Pitt, where he served as co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2011.
