PITTSBURGH — Led by a hat trick from graduate midfielder Arnau Vilamitjana, the Pitt men's soccer team knocked off Syracuse, 4-2, Saturday evening at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
The result marked the Panthers' (5-6-3, 1-4-1 ACC) first ACC win of the season and snapped a four-match winless streak. Pitt's four goals were also the most Syracuse (6-5-2, 3-3-0 ACC) had allowed since Oct. 25 of last season. Of note, the Orange entered Saturday's match having conceded just eight goals all year.
Vilamitjana became the first Panther to record a hat trick since Luis Sahmkow on Sept. 18, 2023, while improving his team-leading point total to 19 (eight goals, three assists).
