Panthers Open ACC Action Friday Night at Fitzgerald Field House
PITTSBURGH— The No. 18 Pitt wrestling team (5-2, 0-0 ACC) will face a pair of ranked opponents this weekend. On Friday, the Panthers host No. 15 Stanford (4-1, 0-0 ACC) to open conference action, and on Sunday, travel to No. 22 West Virginia (7-2, 1-2 Big 12) for the Backyard Brawl.
Friday's match against Stanford is slated to begin at 7 p.m. and will air on ACCNX. Sunday's dual at West Virginia will air on ESPN+ at 1 p.m.
Pitt is 5-2 in dual meets this season with five of its seven matches coming against nationally ranked opponents. Stanford enters the match with a 4-1 record in dual meets and are coming off a team title at the Midlands Championships in late December. West Virginia is 7-2 in dual meets and are tied (13-13-1) with the Panthers in the Backyard Brawl at the WVU Coliseum.

- No. 12 Mac Stout has won nine consecutive matches to climb to No. 12 in the InterMat rankings. Stout leads the Panthers with 12 wins with five of those coming by major decision or tech fall.
- No. 22 Dylan Evans and No. 28 Grigor Cholakyan will have a rematch after facing each other in the quarterfinals of the Midlands Championships in December. Evans won the matchup 11-8 in a sudden victory.
- No. 18 Luca Augustine holds a 10-3 record on the season, including going 5-1 in dual meets and 4-3 against ranked opponents.

- Pitt delivered an outstanding showing at the 2024 Midlands Championships (December 29-30) with three Panthers earning top three finishes and a tie for fourth-place team finish. Reece Heller (184) and Mac Stout (197) took home titles with dominating performances throughout the two days, while Kade Brown delivered an impressive performance with a third-place finish at 149.
