
Pitt Signs Outfielder Saleyna Daniel

PITTSBURGH – Pitt's 2025 roster continues to take shape with the addition of senior transfer Saleyna Daniel. The outfielder comes to Pittsburgh after spending three seasons with Mississippi State.
"We are excited to welcome Saleyna to the Pitt Softball Family," said head coach Jenny Allard. "Saleyna brings great speed and power along with strong leadership qualities. She is an exciting player to watch."
Daniel was limited to 12 games off the bench, pinch hitting eight times, batting .500 (4-for-8) last season with a pair of RBIs. The Houston, Texas, native was the most-used substitute for the Bulldogs in 2023, coming off the bench 29 times and spending time in the outfield and as the designated player. Daniel is a .231 (15-for-65) career hitter with a home run, a triple, and a double with eight RBI.
In high school, Daniel was ranked the No. 71 prospect in the class according to Extra Innings Softball and named the No. 12 outfielder in the country in 2019 by the outlet. Daniel was also ranked as the No. 23 outfielder in the class in 2020.
