
Pitt Alumna Marcedes Walker Headed to 2024 Paris Olympics

BAKU, Azerbaijan – After leading Azerbaijan to the FIBA 3x3 Qualifying Tournament title in mid-April, and punching the nation's ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Pitt alumna Marcedes Walker was officially announced as a member of the Olympic roster Wednesday morning.
"It's an honor to represent Azerbaijan in the Olympics in Paris in 2024," said Walker. "It's always been a dream of mine to go to the Olympics, and now that dream is a reality."
Walker, along with teammates Tiffany Hayes, Alexandra Mollenhauer and Dina Ulyanova, will represent Azerbaijan at the quadrennial event, marking the country's first-ever appearance.

Hailing from Philadelphia, Walker enjoyed a decorated career at Pitt as she is one of only five players in program history to garner multiple first team all-conference accolades. Of note, Walker and Shavonte Zellous are the only players to achieve the feat since the turn of the century.
