PITTSBURGH – Pitt added to its 2025 roster with the addition of graduate transfer Kaitlyn Brannstrom. The primary first baseman comes to Pittsburgh after spending the last two seasons with Grand Canyon.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kaitlyn (KB) to the Pitt Softball Family," said head coach Jenny Allard. "Her offensive potential and defensive experience will make an immediate impact to the program."
The Portage, Mich. native helped GCU claim back-to-back WAC Tournament titles and make two NCAA Tournament appearances, including making the program's first NCAA Regional final this past season. In two seasons with GCU, Brannstrom batted .312 with eight doubles, 11 home runs, 57 RBI, .573 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage.
Prior to GCU, Brannstrom had a standout freshman campaign with Purdue during the 2021 season. Brannstrom started 40 of 44 games as a true freshman and was named All-Big Ten second team and to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Brannstrom led the team and ranked sixth in the Big Ten with 30 RBI.
