PITTSBURGH – Pitt relief pitcher Phil Fox was named third team All-America by ABCA/Rawlings this morning, earning his third postseason honor of the year.
It is the first All-America honor of Fox's career and Pitt's first All-America honor since 2016 when Charles Leblanc earned a second team selection. Fox is Pitt's 13th All-American in program history and the first under head coach Mike Bell.
Fox led the Panthers in ERA (1.47), appearances (23) and saves (8) in 2024. The Pittsburgh native would go on to earn three wins with 45 strikeouts in his 36.2 innings pitched, allowing just six earned runs all year.
After just one season at Pitt, Fox now sits fourth all-time in program history in career saves. His eight saves this year were the second-most in a single season in Pitt history. The redshirt sophomore earned saves against top-ranked teams No. 7 Duke, No. 8 Florida State and No. 13 Virginia Tech as well as NCAA Tournament teams Georgia Tech and Bryant during his 2024 campaign.
