
Pitt Learns Seeding and Schedule for 2024 ACC Baseball Championship

CHARLOTTE, Nc. – The Pitt Panthers earned a spot in the 2024 ACC Baseball Championship with their win at Miami on Saturday afternoon.
Pitt has now clinched a berth in the ACC Baseball Championship for the fourth consecutive year. Prior to Coach Bell's tenure, the Panthers made the ACC Baseball Championship just once.
The 12th seeded Panthers will play on Pool A alongside North Carolina (1 seed) and Wake Forest (8 seed).
Pool B consists of No. 2 seed Clemson, No. 7 seed Louisville and No. 11 seed Miami. Pool C will be No. 3 seed NC State, No. 6 seed Duke and No. 10 seed Virginia Tech. And Pool D includes No. 4 seed Virginia, No. 5 seed Florida State and No. 9 seed Georgia Tech.
Pitt will begin conference tournament play on Wednesday, May 22 at 3 PM against No. 8 Wake Forest. They will turn around and face No. 1 North Carolina on Thursday, May 23 at 3 PM.
ACC Network will carry each of the pool play games Tuesday through Friday, in addition to both of Saturday's semifinals. Sunday's championship is scheduled for a noon start and will be carried nationally by ESPN2.
Each team in the four pools will play one game against each of the other two opponents in its pool Tuesday through Friday (May 21-24). The four teams with the best records within their respective pools will advance to Saturday's semifinals, with the winners playing on Sunday in the ACC Championship Game.
Game times Tuesday through Friday are set for 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday's semifinals are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., while Sunday's championship will begin at noon.
As the 12 seed in 2023, the Panthers hit five home runs and defeated No. 8 seed Notre Dame in game one of their pool play round. Pitt would fall to Wake Forest, the No. 1 team in the country, the following day.
