MORGANTOWN, Wv. – Despite outhitting the No. 22 Mountaineers by six, the Panthers dropped Tuesday night's contest in Morgantown 6-3.
With their 13-hit performance today, Pitt has recorded 13+ hits in each of their last two games.
Luke Cantwell led all Panthers with three hits this evening, going 3-5 with an RBI single in the eighth and notching his fourth three-hit game of the season. Freshmen Jonah St. Antoine and Ryan Zuckerman each collected multiple hits as well. For St. Antoine, it was his second consecutive two-hit game. Jayden Melendez launched his team-leading 11th home run of the season on a two-run shot in the eighth inning.
Justin Fogel and Dom Popa each extended their respective hitting streaks. Fogel had two hits and extended his hitting streak to 11 games while Popa had a single in the third and extended his streak to nine games.

Porter did not allow a single base runner while striking out two in his 2.1 innings tonight. Candelario allowed just one hit in his two scoreless innings with two strikeouts as well.
Pitt strung together six singles over the first three innings but were unable to take advantage. Matt Fernandez worked swiftly through the first two innings and kept the game scoreless through two.
