LYNCHBURG, VA – After three consecutive home games, Pitt Lacrosse is back on the road for a non-conference game against the Liberty Flames. Wednesday's contest is scheduled for a 3 PM opening draw at Liberty Lacrosse Field.
This week's game is the second time the two programs have faced off, as Liberty got the better of Pitt last season at Highmark Stadium, 13-7.
Last time out, the Panthers fell to ACC foe Louisville 19-11. Junior Jill Fenech set a new program single-game record with nine draw controls in the game and reached the 150 plateau for her time in the blue and gold. Camdyn O'Donnell and Ava Washington each recorded hat tricks in the loss, the 16th game in a row dating back to last year that Washington has scored a goal in. Goalies Molly Cain and Audrey Moran collected eight saves together.
Liberty holds a 1-4 record early in the season and most recently dropped a game against Duke 16-13. Two attackers for the Flames have over 10 points in 2024: Mackenzie Lehman (13G, 2A) and Cami Merkel (9G, 3A). Lehman has also secured 21 draw controls to pace the Flames on the circle. Three goalies have seen significant action for Liberty and have totaled 23 saves and a .245 save percentage.
After the midweek matchup, Pitt will stay on the road for an ACC battle against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday. Follow all the Pitt Lacrosse action 24/7 on Instagram and X: @Pitt_WLAX.
