Panthers Complete First Day at 2024 Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The University of Pittsburgh men's swimming and diving team completed their first day of competition at the 2024 Men's NCAA Championships, Thursday afternoon at the IU Natatorium.
In the preliminary rounds, senior Max Matteazzi posted a 1:45.08 in the 200 IM while Stepan Goncharov represented Pitt in the 50 free prelims – clocking in at 19.62.
For the divers, Cameron Cash, Daley Fraser and Dylan Reed each competed in the 1-meter competition. Cash posted a 333.15 in the prelims to secure 18th place overall. Reed earned 322.60 points in the prelims to claim 22nd place while Fraser secured 29th place with his 311.10 total points.

The Panthers are back in action tomorrow for their second day of competition at the 2024 Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium. The preliminary rounds are set to begin at 10 a.m. with finals slated for 6 p.m.
