
Panthers Host Hokies Saturday for Senior Day

PITTSBURGH, PA – Pitt Lacrosse is back in action at home Saturday, as they play host to ACC rival Virginia Tech for an 11 AM start at Highmark Stadium.
This weekend's clash will be the fourth time the Panthers and Hokies have squared up since Pitt began play in 2022. Virginia Tech has won each matchup to this point and comes in to the contest with a 7-4 (1-3 ACC) record so far. Offensively, two Hokies have over 30 points: Kayla Downey 50 (18G, 32A) and Olivia Vergano 33 (27G, 6A). Goalie Jocelyn Torres has made all 11 starts in net with 60 saves and a .390 save percentage.
Saturday's game marks the first at home since March 2 for Pitt. The Panthers most recently defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes 21-5, behind Sydney Naylor and Ava Washington hat tricks. Freshman attacker Avery Moon also tied a program high with four assists in one game.
Prior to the action on the field, Pitt Lacrosse will honor their four "seniors" in a pregame recognitin ceremony. No. 15 Sammie Giroux, No. 20 Camdyn O'Donnell, No. 25 Sarah Labovitz and No. 31 Audrey Moran will be celebrated for their time in the blue and gold and beyond. Please join us early for Senior Day.
