The road swing continues for the Panthers, with this being game three of four in a row away from Highmark Stadium. Last Friday, Pitt matched up with the Duke Blue Devils and came up just short, falling 13-11 in Durham, North Carolina. Junior Ava Washington recorded a career high six points and five goals to pace the Panther attack and junior Jenna Hendrickson netted a hat trick of her own. In net, graduate Audrey Moran mmatched her career high with 14 saves to hold the Blue Devil offense at bay as much as she could.
Virginia is off to a strong start in 2024 under first-year head coach Sonia Lamoninca. The Cavaliers are 7-1 and coming off their biggest win over the season, a 12-10 triumph over then No. 4 Notre Dame. The only UVA loss is to a No. 8 North Carolina team 10-9 in overtime. Five Cavalier student-athletes have notched over 20 points this year, including senior Morgan Schwab with 45 (11G, 34A).
