Panthers Set to Host Clemson Friday Night for Annual Pride Meet

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (3-4, 1-2 ACC) is set to host the Clemson Tigers on Friday, Feb. 9 for their annual Pride Meet at the Fitzgerald Field House. The meet is set to air live on the ACC Network Extra and will start at 7 p.m.
HOW TO FOLLOW
- Friday's ACC dual meet will be streamed live on the ACC Network Extra.
- Live scoring will be available through VIRTI.US.
- Fans can follow along with live updates on X (Twitter) by following @Pitt_GYM.
PRIDE NIGHT
- The first 350 fans in attendance can pick up their free Pitt Pride Headbands!
- Students be sure to get to the meet early to secure you seat in the Stick City Student Section and pick up your free Stick City t-shirt.
- Students in attendance can receive a wristband to secure free pizza at Friday's meet.
THE MATCHUP
- Friday's matchup between the Panthers and the Tigers will be the second time the programs have met this season and in history.
- On Jan. 21, the Tigers topped the Panthers 196.200-194.775.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Panthers posted a season high score of 196.525 – matching the third highest score in program history Friday night against North Carolina.
- Senior Jah'Liyah Bedminster posted a career-high 9.950 – securing a perfect score for her vault.
- Each gymnast secured a score of 9.725 or higher for their routines on bars.
- Both Jordyn Ewing and Simons earned a 9.825 for their routines on bars – tying for the first place title overall.
- Continuing the momentum, the Panthers posted a strong 49.125 on beam. Hallie Copperwheat posted Pitt's highest score on beam tonight with her 9.900. This routine and score earned her the first place title overall. Sophomore Reyna Garvey made her season debut this evening – earning a 9.825 for her routine.
- Pitt topped off this energetic evening with their best event – posting a season high 49.325 on floor.
- Ewing matched her career-high score tonight – anchoring the event with her 9.925.
- Freshman Kaylee Larson and Bedminster each posted a career-high score of 9.900 for their routines.
- Copperwheat added to the excitement on floor with her 9.825.
- Todd completed her All-Around journey on floor – securing a 9.775. She completed the All-Around with a total score of 38.675.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Freshman Tiger Maggie Holman was named ACC Newcomer of the week – securing the Tiger's third Newcomer of the Week honor this season.
- Clemson dropped the dual meet against NC State on Friday evening in front of their second-consecutive sold out home crowd.
- The Tigers posted a 195.600 team score to NC State's 196.300.
- Clemson posted a program high floor score of 49.525 – securing the 15th-highest score on the event by any team in NCAA this season.
- The Tigers saw two 9.950s on floor on Friday nigh with each gymnast securing a 9.850 or higher on the event.
THE TERRIFIC TODD
- Freshman Todd who secured the first-ever ACC Newcomer of the Week honor (1/9) posted the highest score Pitt has seen thus far this season on Friday evening. She earned a 9.900 for her routine on bars.
- The Bristol, England native tied for the first place title on bars against Clemson (1/21) with her 9.825.
NOTHING BETTER THAN BEDMISNTER
- Senior Bedminster secured Pitt's first-ever ACC Gymnast of the Week honor (1/15) for her performance against the Kent State Golden Flashes.
- The Loganville, GA native posted a season-high on vault with her 9.825 against the Wolfpack.
- In the meet at NC State (1/26), Bedminster secured a career-high 9.875 with her floor routine.
- Senior Jah'Liyah Bedminster posted a career-high 9.950 – securing a perfect score for her vault (2/3). The Panthers haven't seen a 9.950 on vault since Alyse Zeffiro in 2004.
SHE'S JUST KEN
- Sophomore Duke posted a career-high score on floor against the Wolfpack – posting a 9.825.
YAY FOR KAY
- Freshman Kaylee Larson posted a career high score on floor with her 9.900 against North Carolina (2/3).
UP NEXT
The Panthers will hit the road down to Chapel Hill, NC where they will meet the North Carolina Tarheels on Friday, Feb. 16.
