PITTSBURGH – Pitt women's basketball senior forward Liatu King was named to the Women's College All-Star Game Player Watch List, having been selected by a distinguished panel of national media and basketball experts to compete in the national showcase event on April 6 in Cleveland, OH.
The 2024 Women's College All-Star Game will feature the top senior standouts who are on the precipice of hearing their names called in the WNBA Draft. Of the more than 50 players (10 from the ACC) that appear on the watch list, 20 will ultimately be selected to participate in the event, which will be televised by ESPN2 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Players appearing on this watch list may return to school in 2024-25 as a result of an additional year of eligibility related to COVID-19. Inclusion on this list does not imply players will forego any remaining eligibility.
King is enjoying one of the best senior seasons in Pitt women's basketball history this season as she is averaging career-highs in all statistical categories. The Washington, DC native is currently averaging 19.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 blocks while shooting 53.7% from the floor and 71.0% from the free throw line. The talented forward has scored in double figures in 27 of 29 games for the Panthers while netting 20+ points in a career-high 11 games so far this season. She has also racked up a career-high 16 double-doubles which ranks second most in the ACC and ninth most in the NCAA this season. The 16 double-doubles are also tied for the most by a Pitt player in a single season across the last 30 seasons. She has also notched a NCAA-high four games this season with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and two steals.
For her Pitt career, King has appeared in 104 games while racking up 1,121 points, 803 rebounds, 125 assists, 115 blocks and 109 steals as she is one of just four Panthers in program history to record at least 1,100 points, 800 rebounds, 100 steals and 100 blocks in her career. Her 1,121 career points currently ranks 15th on the Panthers' All-Time scoring chart while her 803 rebounds ranks ninth most in program history.
The Women's College All-Star Game will provide the country's brightest college stars one final opportunity to represent their programs and be recognized against the backdrop of the sport's championship weekend. King is one of many notable standouts to appear on the watch list, which also includes:
- Iowa's Caitlin Clark

One of the leading voices of the panel is longtime college coach Terri Mitchell, who will serve as Game Ambassador. In her role, Mitchell will help finalize player and team rosters and oversee the player experience both on and off the court. She has spent nearly 30 years as a coach, including 18 as the head coach at Marquette where she finished as the program's all-time leader in wins.
"Having spent my entire career so closely connected to the game of basketball, I'm very excited to join the team at Intersport in bringing the Women's College All-Star Game back to championship weekend," said Mitchell. "This sport continues to grow in popularity, as evidenced by rising fan attendance and increasing television viewership, so to once again have this platform for the best seniors in the game is an important reflection of women's basketball and its upward trajectory."
