PITTSBURGH, PA – The Panthers women's lacrosse squad looks to defend their home field against the No. 1 ranked Boston College Eagles this Saturday. The game is set for 11 AM at Highmark Stadium in the Station Square neighborhood of Pittsburgh.
This will be the third annual matchup between the two ACC programs. Boston College has come away victorious twice, 19-12 in 2022 and 17-2 in 2023. The top-ranked Eagles have steamrolled to a 4-0 start this season and are led offensively by seniors Kayla Martello, Belle Smith, and Rachel Clark, who have collectively scored 35 goals so far this season.
Head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein enters her 12th season as head coach, coming off six straight final four appearances and a National Championship in 2021.
Jenna Hendrickson (7G) and Sydney Naylor (5G) have piloted Pitt on offense, while graduate goalie Audrey Moran commands the defensive effort (30S, .508 save percentage). Moran set a career high record of 14 saves against Penn State on February 20th.
Saturday's game will be the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation game, where Pitt's adopted teammate Lilli and family will be in attendance. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for children battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers and to raise awareness through their Adopt-A-Child, Safe on the Sidelines and Guardian Angel Programs. Lilli has been with the team since the inaugural season in 2022.
In addition, fans will receive a Pitt Lacrosse branded lacrosse ball while supplies last upon entry at Highmark Stadium.
Following Saturday's contest, the Panthers continue their home stretch against Detroit Mercy on February 26th and Louisville on March 2nd. Follow all the action 24/7 on Instagram and X: @Pitt_WLAX.
