PITTSBURGH – Pitt returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 13 against Virginia at John Paul Jones Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. with Wes Durham and Dan Bonner calling the action on the ACC Network.
THE OPENING TIP
- The Panthers are 5-2 on the season in road games with wins at Duke, NC State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and West Virginia. Pitt has won 12 road games over the past two seasons.
- Pitt leads the ACC in three-point field goals (9.13 3pg.) and have made 10 or more threes in a game 11 times.
- Blake Hinson has scored in double figures in 20 games with nine 20+ point games. He ranks among the ACC leaders in scoring (5th - 17.9 ppg.), three-pointers (1st - 77), and three-point percentage (T-5th - .414).
- Ishmael Leggett has emerged as one of the top sixth men in the ACC averaging 13.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game off the bench over the past six contests.
- Carlton Carrington is the only freshman and one of just 17 players in the NCAA averaging at least 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game this season. He is averaging 17.3 points per game while going 17-of-19 (.895) from the foul line over the past three games.
- Jaland Lowe has six double-figure scoring games and is averaging 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in ACC play. He has scored 10 or more points in six of the past seven games, including a 20-point effort in last Wednesday’s win over NC State.
PANTHER SPOTLIGHTS
- Blake Hinson is averaging 18.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, while going 28-of-64 (.438) from three-point range in seven road contests this season.
- Pitt has won five of the past six games with the guard trio of Carlton Carrington (14.0 ppg.), Jaland Lowe (13.8 ppg.), and Ishmael Leggett (13.5 ppg.) combining to average 41.3 points per game in that stretch. The trio has combined for 14 double-figure scoring games, including seven games with 15 or more points scored in that span.

BY THE NUMBERS - INDIVIDUAL
- Blake Hinson is 39 points shy of reaching the 1,000-point plateau at Pitt. He has scored 961 points in just 59 games (16.3 ppg.) and is on pace to reach 1,000 points in the fourth fewest games in program history, behind only Don Hennon (44), Billy Knight (45), and Brian Shorter (50).
- Jaland Lowe is averaging 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, while going 12-of-30 (.400) from three-point range, since joining the starting lineup nine games ago. He has scored in double figures six times in that stretch and played 30+ minutes in each of the past eight games.
- Carlton Carrington has scored in double figures 18 times with five or more assists on 10 occasions. He ranks second among ACC freshmen in scoring (13.6 ppg.), rebounds (5.2 rpg.), and assists (4.2 apg.), and third in three-point field goals per game (1.7 3pg.).
- Blake Hinson has made at least one three-pointer in 56 of 59 games as a Panther and is now 174-of-442 (.394) from three-point range in his career at Pitt. He ranks ninth in career threes (174), while his 77 threes this season ranks just outside the top 10 in the Pitt record books.
- Ishmael Leggett leads the Panthers in rebounding (5.4 rpg.) and steals (28), while ranking third in scoring (12.1 ppg.) and assists (48). He has scored in double figures 16 times including five or the past six games off the bench.
- Federiko Federiko is averaging 7.1 rebounds per game over the past seven contests. He is one of four Panthers averaging at least 5.0 rebounds per game for the season. Federiko ranks among the ACC leaders in offensive rebounds (T-6th - 2.48 orpg.) and blocks (7th - 1.43 bpg.).
- Zack Austin is three made threes shy of becoming the 14th player in the NCAA since 1994-95 to register at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 150 blocks, and 150 threes in a career. He enters Tuesday’s game with 1,053 points, 519 rebounds, 166 blocks, and 147 three-point field goals.

- Pitt is averaging 18.8 points per game off the bench over the past six games. The Panthers have an 113-73 edge in bench scoring in that stretch with Ishmael Leggett providing much of the scoring pop with 13.5 points per game off the bench in that stretch.
- Pitt is the only team in the ACC with three players - Zack Austin, Federiko Federiko, and Guillermo Diaz Graham - ranked in the top 15 in the league in blocks. The trio has combined for 87 of Pitt’s 115 blocked shots on the season. Pitt leads the ACC with 5.0 blocks per game.
- The Panthers are 12-0 on the season when posting a better field goal percentage than its opponent. Pitt is shooting 46.8 percent from the field, including 36.8 percent from three-point range in its wins, compared to 36 percent and 29 percent shooting splits from the field and three-point range in losses.
