
Verdi, Faye and Miles Set to Represent Pitt at 2024 ACC Tipoff

CHARLOTTE – After being named captains of the Pitt women's basketball team, graduate forward Khadija Faye and senior guard Brooklynn Miles will join head coach Tory Verdi, representing the Panthers at the 2024 ACC Tipoff on Tuesday, Oct. 8, as announced by the league office Friday.
For the second-consecutive year, the event is set to take place at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, N.C.
ACC Network will be live from ACC Tipoff for three days of expansive coverage from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The 24/7 national network dedicated to ACC sports will provide the event's most robust television coverage.

Khadija Faye
Faye joined the Panther program with one year of eligibility remaining after compiling 602 points, 495 rebounds, 97 blocks in 103 games at Texas (2022-24) and Texas Tech (2020-22).
Faye averaged 5.7 points and 4.4 rebounds, while shooting 52.7 percent (127-of-241) from the field, in 13.7 minutes per game over two seasons with the Longhorns. She scored in double figures 13 times and had six double-doubles, while helping Texas to a 59-15 record and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances over the past two seasons. Faye delivered 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in just 12.2 minutes per game for a Longhorn team that reached the 2024 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.
A native of Dakar, Senegal, Faye played in 38 career games (24 starts) and recorded 229 points (6.0 ppg.), 210 rebounds (5.5 rpg.) and 44 blocks (1.2 bpg.) in 650 minutes (17.1 mpg.) during her two seasons at Texas Tech.
She also has international experience playing for Senegal at the 2020 FIBA U18 Women African Championship. She averaged 11.3 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game, including a 14-point, 15-rebound effort against Egypt to open the event. Faye also helped lead Senegal to a gold medal at the 2023 Prancophone Games where she totaled 20 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots in a game.
Brooklynn Miles
Miles, the 2021 Gatorade Player of the Year out of Kentucky, played two seasons at Tennessee (2021-23) before spending last season at Kentucky (2023-24).
Miles is averaging 3.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game in 88 career contests (27 starts). As a junior at Kentucky, she posted 5.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.2 steals in just under 30 minutes per game while starting 27 of 33 contests. Miles led the Wildcats in assists (96) and steals (38), dishing out three or more assists in 20 games and collecting two or more steals 10 times. The Frankfort, Ky., native scored in double figures seven times, including four times in SEC play with a career-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field at Alabama.
At Tennessee, Miles played in 56 games averaging 1.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists, while shooting 40.0 percent from the field. She was named SEC Freshman of the Week for her career-high 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals against Georgia State in December 2021. Miles also played in all six NCAA Tournament games across two seasons as a Lady Vol, helping her team to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances on 10.3 minutes per game, 2.0 points per game and 1.2 rebounds per game in the pair of tournaments.
