
Panthers Fall to NC State Friday Night

RALEIGH, NC – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (2-3-0, 1-2-0 ACC) put up a strong fight to the NC State Wolfpack (2-4-0, 2-0-0 ACC) but fell Friday night at Reynolds Coliseum. The Panthers posted a season-high score on floor tonight with their 49.200.
BARS | 48.750
The Panthers kicked off their second ACC matchup of the season on bars. Jah'Liyah Bedminster and Julie Madso secured Pitt's highest score of the night on the rotation with their 9.800. Arayah Simons saw herself back in the bars lineup – securing a 9.775 for her routine. Kennedy Duke and Emily Todd began their journey to the All-Around posting a 9.700 and 9.625, respectively.
VAULT | 48.600
Bedminster earned a season-high tonight on vault with her 9.825. Fifth year Shruthi Anand posted a 9.750 in the second rotation. Duke pushed through her second event in the All-Around – earning a 9.750 on vault.
FLOOR | 49.200
Pitt posted a season high on floor tonight with their team score of 49.200. Each Panther secured a 9.775 or higher for their routines tonight on floor. Ciara Ward was at the top of the lineup for Pitt – securing a 9.800 for her routine. Duke continued her journey in the All-Around – posting a career-high with her 9.825. Both Hallie Copperwheat and Jordyn Ewing continued the momentum for the Panthers – dazzling the audience with their 9.850 routines. Bedminster posted Pitt's highest score on floor tonight as well as secured a career-high with her 9.875. Todd earned a 9.775 with her routine tonight.
BEAM | 47.550
The Panthers finished the evening out on beam. Copperwheat posted a strong routine for Pitt on the final rotation – earning a 9.800. Duke scored a 9.625 – completing the All-Around with her 38.900. Todd finished out her first ever All-Around journey with a 38.525.

The Panthers are heading back to Pittsburgh to host the ACC home opener on Friday, Feb. 1. Pitt will welcome the North Carolina Tarheels with the meet slated for 7 p.m.
