PITTSBURGH – Pitt travels to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech at McCamish Pavilion. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. with Anish Shroff and David Padgett calling the action on ESPNU.
THE OPENING TIP
- Tuesday’s contest is the second game of a string of three consecutive road games for Pitt. The Panthers wrap up the road stretch at Miami Jan. 27.
- Pitt and Georgia Tech rank first and second in the ACC in offensive rebounds and offensive rebound percentage. The Panthers average a league-best 12.94 offensive rebounds per game.
- Pitt topped Georgia Tech three times last season as Federiko Federiko averaged 11.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last season against the Yellow Jackets.
- Blake Hinson has scored in double figures in 16 games with eight 20+ point games. He ranks among the ACC leaders in scoring (3rd - 18.4 ppg.), three-pointers (1st - 63), and three-point percentage (4th - .420). Hinson is coming off a 24-point effort in which he went 7-of-7 from three-point range in Saturday’s win at No. 7 Duke.
- Jaland Lowe was named ACC Rookie of the Week after averaging 18.5 points and 4.5 assists per game (with a 9:1 assist-to-turnover ratio) against Syracuse and at No. 7 Duke. He scored six points in the final 45 seconds of play at Cameron Indoor Stadium to help seal the win.
- Carlton Carrington is the only freshman in the country averaging at least 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
PANTHER SPOTLIGHTS
- Blake Hinson enters Tuesday’s game with a string of seven consecutive made threes. Cameron Johnson holds the school record with eight straight makes from beyond the arc.
- Jaland Lowe is averaging 10.6 points and 2.9 assists in 24.2 minutes per game in ACC play. He has scored in double figures in three of the past five league games.
- Zack Austin has recorded two or more blocks in four of the past five games. He leads the Panthers and ranks eighth in the ACC with 1.56 blocks per game.

BY THE NUMBERS - INDIVIDUAL
- Jaland Lowe is averaging 13.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, while going 6-of-12 (.500) from three-point range, since joining the starting lineup four games ago.
- Carlton Carrington has scored in double figures 14 times with five or more assists on 10 occasions. He ranks second among ACC freshmen in scoring (13.2 ppg), rebounds (5.1 rpg.), and assists (4.5 apg.), and third in three-point field goals per game (1.8 3pg.).
- Zack Austin is averaging 9.4 points per game, while going 27-of-56 (.482) from the field, over the past eight games. He has scored in double figures four times in that span.
- Blake Hinson has made at least one three-pointer in 51 of 54 games as a Panther and is now 160-of-406 (.394) from three-point range in his career at Pitt. He reached 150 made threes in fewer games than anyone in program history.
- Ishmael Leggett leads the Panthers in rebounding (5.6 rpg.) and steals (21), while ranking third in scoring (11.6 ppg.) and assists (41).
- Zack Austin is six made threes shy of becoming the 14th player in the NCAA since 1994-95 to register at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 150 blocks, and 150 threes in a career.
