PITTSBURGH – Pitt is on the road to play No. 7 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium in the second game of the Hoops4ALS series between the two schools. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. with Wes Durham and Dan Bonner calling the action on the ACC Network.
THE OPENING TIP
- Hoops4ALS is a group dedicated to uniting basketball coaches, players, and fans to raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) — also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease — and promote research and advocacy to help those dealing with this fatal disease and to support those working to find a cure.
- Saturday’s contest begins a string of three consecutive road games for Pitt. The Panthers play at Duke, at Georgia Tech, and at Miami over an eight-day span from Jan. 20-27.
- Pitt has lost four consecutive meetings and is 2-5 all-time against the seventh-ranked team in the AP Poll.
- The Panthers have dropped 24 consecutive road contests to ranked opponents. Pitt’s last road win over a top 25 team in the AP Poll was a 62-52 win over No. 17 Cincinnati Feb, 9, 2013.
- Blake Hinson has scored in double figures in 15 games with seven 20+ point games. He ranks among the ACC leaders in scoring (5th - 18.1 ppg.), three-pointers (1st - 56), and three-point percentage (7th - .392).
- Carlton Carrington is the only freshman in the country averaging at least 13.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
PANTHER SPOTLIGHT
- Jaland Lowe is averaging 11.4 points per game, while going 21-of-47 (.447) from the field, including 5-of-11 (.455) from three-point range, over the past five games.

BY THE NUMBERS - INDIVIDUAL
- Jaland Lowe is averaging 12.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, while going 4-of-7 (.571) from three-point range, since joining the starting lineup three games ago.
- Carlton Carrington has scored in double figures 14 times with five or more assists on 10 occasions. He ranks second among ACC freshmen scoring (13.5 ppg), rebounds (5.3 rpg.), assists (4.6 apg.) and three-point field goals per game (1.9 3pg.).
- Blake Hinson has made at least one three-pointer in 50 of 53 games as a Panther and is now 153-of-399 (.383) from three-point range in his career at Pitt. He reached 150 made threes in fewer games than anyone in program history.
- Ishmael Leggett leads the Panthers in rebounding (5.7 rpg.), while ranking second in steals (18) and third in scoring (11.6 ppg.) and assists (39). He has not scored in double figures in the past five games, while also missing the road win at Louisville with a shoulder injury.
- Zack Austin is averaging 9.9 points per game, while going 25-of-50 (.500) from the field, including 9-of-23 (.391) from three-point range, over the past seven games. He has scored in double figures four times in that span.
- Guillermo Diaz Graham has grabbed five or more rebounds in six of the past seven games. He is averaging 8.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and 1.9 steals since joining the starting lineup seven games ago.
- Zack Austin is six made threes shy of becoming the 14th player in the NCAA since 1994-95 to register at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 150 blocks, and 150 threes in a career.
- Pitt is 8-4 on the season when Blake Hinson makes three or more three-pointers in a game. Hinson ranks 14th at Pitt with 153 career threes in just 53 games with the Panthers.
- Pitt is the only team in the ACC with three players - Federiko Federiko, Zack Austin and Guillermo Diaz Graham - ranked in the top 15 in the league in blocks. The trio has combined for 65 of Pitt’s 87 blocked shots on the season. Pitt leads the ACC with 5.12 blocks per game.

- Pitt has held nine opponents below 30 percent shooting from three-point range. The Panthers rank second in the ACC in three-point percentage defense (.294), despite its past three opponents have combined to go 31-of-63 (.492) from beyond the arc.
- The Panthers are 9-0 on the season when posting a better field goal percentage than its opponent.
