Pitt Baseball Announces 2023 Fall Schedule

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt baseball program and head coach Mike Bell announced their 2023 fall schedule Wednesday afternoon. The Panthers will play two homes games and will follow that with their Blue/Gold Fall World Series. All games this fall will be played at Charles L. Cost Field.
Pitt opens up the 2023 fall season on Friday, October 13 against Toledo, first pitch is slated for a tentative 5 p.m. start. Toledo finished last season with a 26-29 overall record and a 14-16 record in MAC play.
The Panthers will play the following Friday, October 20, against another MAC opponent in Akron. This contest will also have a tentative first pitch time of 5 p.m. Akron was 21-34 last season and ended the year with a series win against their in-state opponent the Ohio Bobcats.
Pitt will round out their fall season by playing their Blue/Gold Fall World Series, which is a three-game intersquad series. Game one will be played on Tuesday, October 24, which will be followed by game two on Thursday, October 26, with game three being played on Friday, October 27. Start times for all three Fall World Series games are still to be determined.
Mike Bell and the Pitt baseball program welcomed 25 newcomers to campus this fall, all will be dawning the Pitt script for the first time in their careers. Pitt's 2023 recruiting class included 14 transfers (one junior college transfer) and 11 freshmen.
The Panthers welcomed Ryan Andrade, Chris Baker, Nate Beimel, Tyler Bischke, Keeton Burroughs, Luke Cantwell, Gavin Chillot, Aiden Coleman, Richie Dell, Kayden Faulcon, Justin Fogel, Phil Fox, Turner Grau, Cameron Grindle, Will Hummel, Jake Kendro, Ben Kovel, Ryan Partridge, Sebastian Pisacreta, Matthew Porter, Bryce Rudisill, Josh Spiegel, Jonah St. Antoine, Austyn Winkleblech and Ryan Zuckerman to Oakland at the beginning of the semester.
