Burton Inks Deal with Kortrijk Spurs

PITTSBURGH – 2023 First Team All-ACC guard Jamarius Burton has signed a pro contract with House of Talents Kortrijk Spurs of the Belgian Pro Basketball League. Burton averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game last season, while leading the Panthers to a 24-12 record overall and a pair of wins in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
The Spurs are one of the top team in the BNXT League winning the Belgian Division I Championship last season with a 24-5 record and finishing as runner-up in 2022. Burton will be paired on the team with a two familiar faces out of the ACC in Paul Atkinson (Notre Dame) and Jayden Gardner (Virginia).
Burton, an NABC All-District 2 selection, scored in double figures in 30 of 34 games played last season and became just the fourth player at Pitt to average at least 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. He also ranked among the ACC leaders in scoring (16th), field goal percentage (10th), free throw percentage (.836 - 8th), and assists (9th).
