Fuchs Set to Compete in European Under 19 Championships

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer incoming freshman, Lainie Fuchs, among 19 players, has been selected to compete at the European Under 19 Championships group stage beginning on July 18th in Belgium.
Fuchs will train and play in three games with the Austrian National Team from July 18-30 and is one of the 19 players on the team. Austria was placed in the Group A of the four teams along with Germany, Belgium, and Netherlands with France, Iceland, Spain, and Czechia in Group B.
Austria will open the European Under 19 Championships play against Germany at the Leburton Stadium in Tubize, Belgium on Tuesday, July 18. This is the second time the Austrian national team has qualified for this Championship.
This tournament will act as the UEFA's qualifier for the 2023 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup which will be held in Colombia. This will be the first time the tournament will be staged as a UEFA women's final tournament.
