Ramirez Named ACC Player of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Sophomore Amanda "Tuta" Ramirez has been named the ACC Softball Player of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday. This is the first weekly conference honor for Ramirez and the first weekly conference honor a Pitt Softball player has received this season.
During this weekend's series sweep against the NC State Wolfpack, Ramirez batted .600 (6-for-10) with four runs scored with a double, a home run, and six RBI in three games. The Miami, FL native helped the Panthers to their come-from-behind victory in the opening game of the series, making it a one-run ballgame with a three-run homer. In Sunday's first game of the doubleheader, the sophomore hit a double to help the Panthers take a 4-0 early lead which helped Pitt secure the win against NC State.
