DURHAM, NC -- Pitt Graduate Outfielder Kyle Hess was named as a Third Team All-ACC team member Monday afternoon, as announced by the conference office.
This season Hess leads the team in batting average (.329), slugging percentage (.622), and stolen bases (9). He is third in hits with 51. His team leading six triples put him first in all of the ACC and have him tied tenth in all of the country. He has hit nine home runs this year while driving in 41 runs.
Hess had a career day on his senior day against No. 11 Miami. He hit a grand slam, a two-run triple, and robbed a possible go-ahead three-run home run as he drove in six of Pitt's seven runs that afternoon en route to a victory.
Hess has played and started in over 160 games for the Panthers, ranking him 15th all-time in both games played (171) and games started (164) in a Pitt uniform. His 151 runs batted in throughout his career put him 4th in Pitt Baseball history, while his 24 home runs rank him 10th all-time.
This is Kyle Hess' first All-ACC honor.
Last season the Panthers had two All-ACC honorees in RHP Matt Gilbertson (second-team) and RHP Billy Corcoran (third-team).
