Hess, Martinez Named PNC Achievers of the Week

PITTSBURGH - Pitt baseball finished up their regular season clinching a spot in the ACC Tournament with the help of senior Noah Martinez and graduate student Kyle Hess who have been named this week's PNC Achievers.
Martinez had a very successful week, hitting a home run in three consecutive games. The New Milford, Connecticut native batted .375, slugged .938 and had 6 RBI. Both Martinez and Hess each collected their team-leading 17th multiple-hit game against Penn State to help the Panthers take the win at PNC Park.
Graduate student Hess also had a strong performance this past week, helping the Panthers clinch a spot in the ACC Tournament. The Mount Joy, Pennsylvania native hit .385, had 2 2B, 3 RBI and had 2 SB. Hess also helped the Panthers succeed against Penn State as he went 2-4 with a three-run home run. This is Hess' second PNC Achiever of the Week honor this season.
