
Panthers Close Out Outdoor ACC Championships With A School Record

RALEIGH, N.C.— Panthers conclude competition at the 2023 Outdoor ACC Championships on Saturday with a school record, multiple top-10 marks, and numerous personal bests.

- Sophomore Daniel Amaya claimed a ninth-place finish in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 60.61m. On the women's side, Foluke Olujide-Ajibade secured fourth place with a mark of 59.37m.
- Kicking off day one of women's heptathlon, Lydia Bottelier led the Panthers in seventh place with 3287 points, Ilse Steigenga followed in ninth place with 3186 points, and Taylor Newton recorded a 15th-place finish with 2784 points.
- In the women's 200m, Imani Clark ran a time of 23.61 to claim eighth place and qualify for finals. On the men's side, Nigel Hussey clutched eighth place to qualify for finals with a time of 20.96.
- Sophomore Finn Walsh ran a personal best time of 3:42.56 to record 12th place and the second-best time in program history.
- Senior Clement Campbell finished fourth in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.58m. He currently sits at fourth best in program history.
- In the men's 400m hurdles, Freshman Devin Nugent advanced to finals after placing eighth with a time of 52.20.
- Sophomore Winnie Incorvaia placed 16th in the women's 10,000m with a time of 35:21.41 to earn a personal best. She remains fourth best in the record books.
- Junior Otoniel Badjana recorded a mark of 17.27m in the men's shot put to secure a fifth-place finish
- The women's heptathlon concluded with Steigenga placing seventh with 5354 points, followed by Bottelier in ninth place with 5318 points, and Newton finished 14th with 4578 points.
- In the women's 100m hurdles, Jazmyn Potts earned a personal best with a time of 13.81. Folake Olujide-Ajibade placed 13th with a time of 13.89.
- Freshman Aleksandra Stoilova advanced to the women's 100m finals with a time of 11.67. On the men's side, Nigel Hussey crossed the finish line first for the Panthers with a time of 10.44 to finish tenth.
- In the women's 3000m steeplechase, school record holder Emily Brown placed eighth with a time of 10:08.54. Sadie Carey-Tharp notched 13th place with a time of 10:42.93, Emily Jobes secured 14th place with a time of 10:43.16, and Gianna Cagliola ran a time of 11:05.22 to place 18th. On the men's side, Senior Jack Miller clocked 8:44.38 to claim seventh place.
- Senior Jack Balick ran a time of 1:48.63 in the men's 800m to earn eighth place. He is currently sixth best in program history. On the women's side, Claire Hoffman recorded a 23rd-place finish with a time of 2:09.55. She currently sits at eighth best in program history.
- In the women's high jump, Bottelier led the Panthers by clearing 1.76m. Eva Baldursdottir and Alesia Rengle cleared 1.71m.
- In the men's 4x100m, Nigel Hussey, Clement Campbell, Darren McQueen Jr., and Stephon Brown had a record-breaking performance and took home a school record with a time of 39.73. On the women's side, Aleksandra Stoilova, Imani Clark, Sydney McCallum, and Nikki Scheer placed sixth with a time of 44.84.
- Nugent had a strong performance in the men's 400m hurdles finals with a time of 51.44 to place fourth. Nugent moved up to sixth best in program history.
- Success Duruzor, Imani Clark, Caleia Johnson, and Nikki Scherer notched sixth place and a season's best in the women's 4x400m with a time of 3:36.56 to claim the fifth fastest time in program history. On the men's side, Devin Nugent, Nigel Hussey, Raymond Oriahki, and Stephon Brown placed sixth with a time of 3:09.05.
