PITTSBURGH – Nelly Cummings, Guillermo Diaz Graham, Jorge Diaz Graham, Greg Elliott, and Federiko Federiko were named to the 2023 All-ACC Academic Team as announced by the league office Thursday morning. Pitt has now had four or more members on the team six times and has had 35 All-ACC Academic Team selections since joining the conference in 2013-14.
The team is comprised of 44 student-athletes, with at least one from each of the ACC's 15 programs. Pitt was one of five programs with five or more student-athletes named to the team in 2023.
All five Pitt selections were in the first season with the program. Cummings and Elliott capped off their collegiate careers with outstanding seasons as the tandem combined for 21.5 points per game and 138 three-point field goals. Federiko shot 66.7 percent from the field for the season, while averaging 6.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game. The Diaz Graham twins brought terrific energy and joy to the game as freshman, while combining for 6.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
