MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The University of Pittsburgh men's swimming and diving team completed the final day at the Men's NCAA Championships – tying for 33rd overall at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center, Saturday evening.
"Today we finished off a fantastic season," said head coach Chase Kreitler. "We tied for 33rd at NCAAs, had a team of twelve men - the largest in Pitt history, our first relay to score since 2002, our first diver score since 2017, our highest ACC team finish (7th) in school history and broke 18 school records! Our staff is incredibly proud of our team and all of the work they put in over the last year. We would not have come this far if it wasn't for the trust our student-athletes have in our staff and the vision they have for where we want our team to go."
"We have big goals for the future, but we're going to take some time to stop and reflect on how much we've accomplished as a group this year. H2P!"
Tonight, the men's 400 free relay comprised of Stepan Goncharov, Dominic Toledo, Flynn Crisci, and Marcin Goraj finished with a time of 2:53.04.
In the platform diving prelims, senior Dylan Reed placed 26th overall with his score of 321.65. Sophomore Cameron Cash finished not far behind in 30th with his 310.20, and freshman Juan Osorio Mendoza scored a 264.40 total.
Also competing in the preliminary rounds, Goraj finished with a time of 1:41.42 in the 200 back. Cooper van der Laan took 29th overall with his time of 1:53.82 in the 200 breast and Flynn Crisci finished with a time of 1:57.55. In the 200 fly, Adam Mahler completed his NCAA performance with his time of 1:44.35.
