
Pitt Bows Out To Clemson In Ally ACC Tournament First Round Wednesday

GREENSBORO, NC – The Pitt women's basketball team (10-20, 3-15 ACC) fell in the First Round of the 2023 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament Wednesday afternoon at the Greensboro Coliseum to the Clemson Tigers by the score of 71-53.
Amber Brown led the Panthers in scoring as she netted 16 points, four rebounds and two assists while Dayshanette Harris finished with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals off the bench in the loss. Maliyah Johnson finished with 10 points and five rebounds while Liatu King had five points, a team-high nine rebounds and two assists.

FIRST QUARTER
- The Tigers opened the scoring with a jumper but Channise Lewis came right back and knocked down a triple to open the scoring for Pitt.
- After five straight points by Maliyah Johnson, Lewis netted her second triple of the quarter to give Pitt the 11-10 lead early on.
- After the Tigers claimed the 14-11 lead before the media, Dayshanette Harris closed out the scoring with five straight to give Pitt the 16-14 lead through 10 minutes.
- The Tigers opened the second quarter on an 11-0 run to push their lead out to 25-16 midway through the quarter.
