
Panthers Host Canisius Golden Griffins in Midweek Matchup

PITTSBURGH, PA – Pitt Lacrosse plays the second of two home games in a row Tuesday afternoon, as Canisius College comes to Pittsburgh to play at Highmark Stadium. Opening draw in Station Square is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Saturday, the Panthers fell to #2 Syracuse by a score of 16-4. Sophomore Sydney Naylor scored her sixth and seventh goals of the season and goalie Hannah Van Middelem made 13 stops in between the pipes, but the overpowering Orange offense won the day.
The Golden Griffins enter the midweek contest sitting at 3-0, after defeating Detroit Mercy, St. Bonaventure and Stetson by a combined score of 46-24. Paige Stachura paces Canisius on offense, with 12 goals and two assists. Jody Chu has started all three games in the net and has made 31 saves.
Last season, Pitt traveled to New York for the first edition of this series and fell to Canisius 12-10.
Admission is free at Highmark Stadium for all fans and the game can be watched on ACC Network Extra.
