
Three Swimmers Break School Records at UGA Last Chance Meet

ATHENS, Ga. – Marcin Goraj, Adam Mahler and Claire Jansen each broke a school record during the Bulldog Last Chance Meet, hosted by the University of Georgia Feb. 25-26.
Goraj broke the school record with a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:41.35. Goraj dropped .57 hundredths from his prelim time of 1:41.61 to claim an NCAA B cut time. In the Sunday timed trial, Goraj broke his own school record in the event with a time of 1:40.34.
In the timed trials, senior Adam Mahler also broke the school record in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:42.45. Senior Jerry Chen finished 11th in the men's 100-yard breaststroke (53.42) and recorded a personal best in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:54.84.
Freshman Claire Jansen broke the school record with a time of 52.33 in the 100-yard backstroke while senior Tatum Detwiler finished fourth in the women's 100-yard breaststroke with a personal best time of 1:00.90.

The Panthers will travel to Morgantown, W.V. for the NCAA Diving Zones March 6-8. The following week will be the NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. (March 14-18) and then the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn. (March 21-25).
