- Pitt softball continues its third week of play at the University of Houston Tournament in Houston, Texas, Feb. 24-25. The Panthers will face off against Houston Christian (Feb. 24 - 11 a.m.), Sam Houston (Feb. 24 - 1:30 p.m.; Feb. 25 - 11 a.m.), Houston (Feb. 25 - 6:30 p.m.) and Illinois (Feb. 26 - 11 a.m.).
- The Panthers are 6-3 through the first two weekends of play. Two of the Panthers' wins have come by eight or more runs with two of their losses being decided by three or fewer runs.
- The Panthers have out-hit their opponents in eight of nine games this season, including outhitting the FIU Panthers 21-12 over two games last weekend.
- Pitt begins their season with six-straight trips on the road. Including Houston, the Panthers have traveled to Clearwater, Fla. and Miami, Fla. Pitt will continue their road stretch by traveling to Huntingdon, W. Va. and Memphis, Tenn. Pitt will open ACC play and conclude its road stint at Louisville March 17-19.
- After finishing towards the bottom of the ACC in most of the major statistical categories in 2022, the Panthers have made a turnaround on the young season.
- Through nine games, Pitt leads the ACC and ranks 16th in the nation in stolen bases per game (2.44). The Panthers rank second in the ACC behind No. 5 Clemson in batting average (.342), on-base percentage (.442), and scoring (6.56).
- In the nation, the team on-base percentage ranks 18th, batting average ranks 23rd, and scoring ranks 28th.
- The Panthers rank fourth in the ACC in doubles (16), doubles per game (1.78), and slugging percentage (.511).
- Sarah Seamans has had a strong start to her final year in the Blue & Gold. Seamans ranks second in on-base percentage (.625), tied third in stolen bases (6), tied fourth in batting average (.500), sixth in OPS (1.417) and 10th in slugging (.792).
- Bailey Drapola is tied for third with Seamans in stolen bases (6). The Panthers and Florida State are the only two schools to have two players among the top five ACC leaders in the category.
- Seamans, Drapola, and Griggs have all reached base in each of Pitt's nine games this season.
- Kat Rodriguez is batting .321 (9-for28) with five of her hits going for doubles. She is tied for first in the ACC and ranks tied for eighth in the ACC in doubles (5).
