CHARLOTTE, NC – Norrah Lemongo and Mackenzie Sullivan have been named ACC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
In her collegiate debut, freshman Norrah Lemongo won the women's shot put at the YSU Icebreaker with a mark of 14.50m, en route to the ACC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor. It is the first conference accolade for the Yaoundé, Cameroon native. Lemongo is the first conference field award recipient in women's program history.
Junior Mackenzie Sullivan earned the ACC Women's Track Athlete of the Week award after winning the women's 800m at the YSU Icebreaker for the second consecutive year, setting a new meet record in the process with her time of 2:13.28. The Wixom, MI native also set a new meet record as the anchor of the women's 4x400m relay team (Somiyah Braggs, Success Duruzor, Caleia Johnson, Mackenzie Sullivan) that claimed first place in the event, crossing the line in 3:46.31. Sullivan is just the second woman in program history to earn the weekly recognition by the ACC, joining Brenda Ayuk who received the ACC Women's Track Athlete of the Week award in 2019.
