PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh men's swimming and diving program welcomed six roster additions for the 2024-25 season, as five swimmers and one diver signed national letters of intent during the fall signing period.
"Our staff did a great job of finding a talented group of young men who will impact our program in the pool, but are also completely aligned with our program's core values and the culture we are developing within our program. I am looking forward to seeing these young men develop over the next four years as leaders, students and athletes.
For the second year in a row, we are excited to add a world ranked athlete to our program with the addition of Noah Bernard. Katie has done a fantastic job mentoring Dylan Reed and Cameron Cash to becoming Olympic Trials Qualifiers and US National Team Members. I am excited to see Noah thrive in our diving program and impact our program immediately at the ACC and NCAA Championships and to continue to represent Canada internationally.
On the swimming side, we see incredible potential in each of the young men that are joining our program and are excited to develop them into ACC and NCAA scorers."
ALEX BAUER
Alex Bauer comes to the Panthers from Indiana Senior High School, as the second fastest 100 and 200 breaststroker in the state of Pennsylvania in the class of 2024. Bauer is a five-time PIAA All-State Team honoree in swimming and a two-time All-Section Team selection in soccer. Bauer primarily swims the 100 Breast (55.63), 200 Breast (2:01.56), 200 IM (1:51.57) and the 400 IM (4:05.35). "Alex comes to Pitt as a multi-sport athlete, having played soccer as well as swam the past four years. He is a very athletic young man who has not exclusively swum year round, but has produced some great results over the last couple years. As he devotes himself completely to swimming, he will develop really well in our program."
