Mertz Lands Spot on TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Fifth year Landy Mertz secures a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week, announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon.
The Pittsburgh, PA native was the star performer in the ACC Championship Quarterfinals on Sunday night - producing key set pieces for the Panthers' victory. Mertz put up both assists on the two Pitt goals in their 2-1 overtime historic victory over UNC. She launched a cross to Ellie Coffield who headed in the first goal for the Panthers in the 72nd minute. In the first 10-minute period of overtime, Mertz found Amanda West at the far post and sent a beautiful assist to secure the win Pitt. Her efforts helped the Panthers secure their first win in program history against the Tar Heels. With this win, Pitt will continue on to make their appearance at the ACC Championship Semifinals for the first time.
Currently, Mertz is ranked in the top-10 in the conference for assists per game (0.47), shot accuracy (0.531), shots on goal per game (1.37) and total assists (9).
