PITTSBURGH – Behind a season-high five goals by five different players, the No. 2 Pitt men's soccer team (3-1-0) got back on track Monday night as they downed Howard 5-0 in front of the home fans at Ambrose Urbanic Field. Pitt doubled their lead early in the second half as Guilherme Feitosa netted his first of the season after a great feed by Luchini once again. Just over five minutes later, Filip Mirkovic pushed the Pitt lead to 3-0 as he took a feed from Valentin Noel and deposited a low hard shot into the left corner of the Howard goal.
The Panthers extended their lead to 4-0 in the 77th minute as Rodrigo Almeida sent a cross into the box where Luis Sahmkow flicked the ball over to Mathys Lefebvre on the doorstep and he beat the keeper to the lower left corner of the goal for the first of his collegiate career.
The fifth and final goal of the night came in the 85th minute as Almeida sent a great cross into the box and Leonardo Andrade headed home the first of his Pitt career. Andrade's marker capped a four-goal second half eruption by the Pitt offensive attack.
