2022: Was a key reserve for the Panthers as he appeared in 15 matches and earned six starts at forward during his sophomore season… Closed out his impressive campaign ranking third on the team with four goals, three assists and 11 points while notching 11 shots (six on goal)… He netted goals in three straight games (Oct. 10 – Oct. 17) for the first time in his career… Scored the game-tying goal in the 78th minute in the draw against #10 Denver (Oct. 10)… Netted his first career game-winning goal in a 1-0 road win over Virginia Tech (Oct. 14), scoring in the 59th minute… Posted his first career three-point game (goal & assist) in the 5-2 home win over #25 Duquesne (Oct. 17)… Scored in NCAA Tournament Second Round win over #16 Akron (Nov. 20).. 2021: Appeared in 10 games… Scored one goal and tallied one assist with one shot in 132 minutes of play… Made his first collegiate appearance vs. Duquesne (8/26), playing 16 minutes… Recorded his first career goal at home vs. Virginia Tech (10/29) to help Pitt clinch its second-straight ACC Coastal crown… Registered an assist in the NCAA Tournament Second Round vs. Northern Illinois (11/21).
High School: Attended Plano East High School in Plano, Texas… After five games at the junior varsity level freshman year, moved up to varsity where he was named MVP and was the season goal leader for both JV and varsity… Named Second Team All-District as a freshman.
Club: Played for Solar F.C.… From 2018-21, played solely for Solar F.C., earning multiple top finishes and awards… Placed second in the U15/16 Dallas Cup and third in the U15/16 US Nationals in 2018… In 2019, named DA U/16/17 National Champions… Competed in the MLS Next in 2021, leading the league in goals (28) and winning the U19 Dallas Cup championship and named MVP in the final… Played in the U19 MLS Cup semifinal that same season.
Personal: Son of Reinaldo Sahmkow and Veronica Melton… Has a younger brother, Diego… Born in Venezuela and moved to Texas at the age of seven… Fluent in both Spanish and English… Enjoys playing golf, tennis and traveling.
