PITTSBURGH – Junior forward Bertin Jacquesson was named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the conference office.
Jacquesson is just the second Panther in program history (Valentin Noel) to earn multiple weekly ACC awards and it marks just the ninth time overall a Pitt player has earned one of the weekly conference accolades.
The Lorrez-Le-Bocage, France native opened the season with an impressive offensive showing as the Panthers knocked off No. 2 Georgetown in the season opener Thursday night. Jacquesson netted the opening goal of the season for Pitt in the fourth minute before tallying an assist on Noel's game-winning goal in the 10th minute.
He closed out the season-opening win with a goal, an assist and a match-high four shots, two on goal, as Pitt earned their seventh victory over a top-10 opponent in the last three seasons.
With his assist on the game-winner, Jacquesson moved into third place on the Panthers' all-time assists list with 19 career assists. He has also produced 42 points across his first 39 collegiate matches for the Panthers.
The junior also earned TopDrawerSoccer Men's Team of the Week and College Soccer News Men's National Team of the Week honors for the week ending Aug. 30 for his efforts in the wins over No. 2 Georgetown and No. 6 West Virginia.
No. 5 Pitt returns to the field Friday, Sept. 2 as they head to Huntington, WV to take on No. 14 Marshall at Hoops Family Field. First kick is set for 7:15 pm and the match will air live on ESPN+.
