Pitt Football Elects 2022 Team Captains

PITTSBURGH—At the conclusion of the annual Pitt Football Kickoff Luncheon presented by Huntington Bank on Friday afternoon, head coach Pat Narduzzi announced the four players who will serve as Pitt's football team captains during the 2022 season: defensive end Deslin Alexandre, linebacker SirVocea Dennis, quarterback Kedon Slovis and offensive tackle Carter Warren.
The four players were selected by a vote of their teammates.
Alexandre joins the likes of Aaron Donald in being named a two-time Pitt team captain, while the other three Panthers each received first-time captain honors for the program.
Each of the four players named captains on Friday will proudly wear a 'C' on their jersey in six days time for the September 1 renewal of the "Backyard Brawl" between Pitt and West Virginia, which will be played before an overflowing crowd at Acrisure Stadium and national ESPN Thursday night television audience. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
ESPN's College GameDay Built by The Home Depot –featuring host Rece Davis and analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and David Pollack—will present an exclusive one-hour live edition from inside Acrisure Stadium beginning at 6 p.m.
