Ten Panthers Set for Collegiate Baseball Summer League Competition

PITTSBURGH – Ten current members of the Pitt Baseball program will continue to work on their craft in prominent college leagues this summer.
"We are extremely excited for our student athletes to continue their development through some of the marquee collegiate summer leagues across the country," said head coach Mike Bell. "Baseball is a game that you must log innings and at bats to continue to develop to your fullest potential. These opportunities to compete at a high-level will continue to allow them to elevate their game & development, more importantly reach their fullest potential."
Jonathan Bautista and Tatem Levins will play for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Collegiate League. The 10-team Cape Cod League runs June 12 – August 11 and fans can get the most up to date information on the Harbor Hawks at https://www.harborhawks.org/.
The Valley League, founded on May 15, 1897, in Edinburg, Virginia, will feature four Panthers with Will Droll and Kyle Demi playing for the Strasburg Express, while Luke Lambert and Dom Popa will suit up for the New Market Rebels. The 11-team league began play last week and will continue on through July 23.
Quin Konuszewski and Josh Overbeek will team up in the Perfect Game Collegiate League for the Amsterdam Mohawks. The Mohawks are off to a 4-0 start in the 16-team league, which will play through the end of July.
Tommy Tavarez and Johnny Long will play in the Northwoods League with the Madison Mallards. The Mallards are eight games into their season which runs through Aug. 13.
