Whaley Named to All-ACC Third Team

PITTSBURGH – Senior infielder Yvonne Whaley was named to the All-ACC Third Team today as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
A transfer student from Texas Tech playing in her first season at Pitt, Whaley finished the season with a team-high .344 batting average with 45 hits, four doubles, two homers, five RBI, 10 walks, 21 runs and eight stolen bases as the leadoff hitter. She tallied a .420 slugging percentage and a .387 on-base percentage.
The Houston, Texas, native stepped up her game in conference play as she hit .358 with 24 hits, 12 runs and a .419 on-base percentage. Her batting average against league competition finished 14th in the conference. She finished the season recording a hit in 15 of her last 18 games and had 15 multi-hit games on the year.
