Cooper Van der Laan Earns NCAA Championships Bid

PITTSBURGH — Senior Cooper Van der Laan of the University of Pittsburgh men's swimming and diving team received a bid to compete in the 2022 NCAA Championships on Wednesday.
Van der Laan will compete in both the 100 Breast and the 200 Breast. He enters the 100 Breast with the 11-best time in the country at 51.42 and ranks 30th nationally in the 200 Breast with a time of 1:53.23.
The Gold Coast, Australia, native earned bronze in the 100 Breast at the 2022 ACC Championships for the second consecutive year and set a program record in the 100 Breast this season with his NCAA-qualifying mark.
Van der Laan will join male divers, Cameron Cash and Dylan Reed, at the men's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships March 23-26 at the McCauley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.
