Panthers to Host Senior Night Dual Meet with Towson

PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh (10-7, 4-2 EAGL) return to the Fitzgerald Field House for their last home meet of the season, hosting No. 24 Towson (12-6, 5-2 EAGL) for an in-conference dual meet Sunday, March 6 at 1:45 p.m. Our senior celebration for our six seniors – Katie Chamberlain, Kailey Gillings, Rebekah Jenkins, Caitlyn Kline, Olivia Miller, and Kiley Robatin - will occur at the conclusion of the meet, following the awards ceremony.

LAST TIME OUT
- The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team placed second in a quad meet at Texas Woman's (7-11, 0-0 MIC) versus No. 6 LSU (8-2, 4-2 SEC) and Centenary College (0-8, 0-2 MIC), with a team score of 195.600 Friday night at Kitty Magee Arena.
- Chamberlain had a standout night, with all three scores crossing the 9.850 threshold. The Simi Valley, Calif. native recorded her third consecutive score of 9.900 or higher on bars with a 9.900, earned a career-high 9.850 on vault and a team-high 9.850 on beam.
- Freshman Hallie Copperwheat finished second overall in the all-around with a score of 39.150.
- Pitt fell short to No. 6 LSU Tigers (197.625) but came out ahead of host Texas Woman's (195.450) and Centenary College (188.075).
WASHINGTON EARNS SECOND EAGL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONOR
- In last Friday's quad meet at Texas Woman's University versus No. 6 LSU and Centenary College, freshman Sidney Washington recorded three scores of at least a 9.800. Her highest score of the night was on floor, 9.875, was a team-high, tying for third overall.
- She tied her career-high on bars with a 9.850, assisting in the team's highest event score of the night (49.250), in addition to recording a 9.800 on vault. Washington has consistently earned a 9.800 or higher in all but one meet throughout her collegiate career on vault.
- This marks Washington's second ROTW accolade this season, earning the first Week 3 after securing the all-around title vs. TWU in January with a then-team-high 39.250.
SCOUTING THE NO. 24 TIGERS
- The No. 24 Towson Tigers are coming off a season-best score of 196.000 at No. 14 Utah State last Sunday, ultimately falling short 196.725-196.000.
- Towson scored two 49.000s with a season-best 49.275 on floor behind a 9.925 from Nikki Borkowski.
- The Tigers are the highest-ranked team in the EAGL with a 196.065 NQS. The Tigers have been in the Top 25 on Road to Nationals the last two weeks, sitting at No. 23 last week and No. 24 this week.
- Sunday's meet will be the 51st meeting between Towson and Pitt and the second of the season. Their last meeting on Jan. 28 at North Carolina, the Panthers fell short to the Tigers, 195.975-194.300. Pitt currently holds an 8-3 lead in the series when competing at home.
